Nessa

I was accepted to the breeding program in November 2002.  I am living with a wonderful family in Berkley, California.   I have two golden retriever playmates and I love my new home. 

In August I was bred to a handsome Labrador retriever by the name of Olson.  My puppies are due the middle of October.  I am so excited about being a mom! 

It is now the beginning of October and I am slowing down a bit.  I sleep a lot more and my belly is getting quite big.

On October 18th  I had eight puppies, 3 female and 5 males, all yellow.  I am quite a busy girl now. 

Guide Dogs has named the puppies.  They are Nancy, Newman, Nexus, Nichelle, Niguel, Nina, Nottingham, and Nutro. 

Here they are on November 22nd.  They are growing so fast.  Aren't they the cutest little things you have ever seen!  I am home now with my family and soon my babies will be going off to their puppy raising families.  What an exciting time this is. The family that raised me will be raising one of my girls. 

On December 13th,Nina went to live with Pete and Mary Jo, the family that raised me.  They came to Guide Dogs to pick her up and then my breeder family and I went to the hotel to visit.  Nina is a darker color like I am so her raisers were pleased that she looked so much like me.  The next day they left for southern California where Nina will be spending the next 14-16 months.  We will see each other at Fun Day or Abu's graduation.

Nina made her debut at Serra Catholic School and immediately started working on her socialization skills.  One of her first introductions was a BIG one -- none other than St. Nick himself!
